Reality Repitch

If we are to shrink, our new tone of voice will need some getting used to. Perhaps a reality repitch of the protagonist’s voice in The Incredible Shrinking Man will give some insights in this process. First results show that a gradual repitch of 4 octaves over the 81 minute period of the film gives your hearing enough time to adjust. As a result you hardly notice the change. This suggests that even if the high-pitched voice seems like an undesirable effect we’ll probably won’t even know the difference once we get there. And that’s not even taking into account the fact that our hearing itself will probably change as well.

Thank you Alex Schaub for doing the actual work.
